Unable to connect to dedicated server with VPO installed on client

Installing the a2 release of the mod on the latest mistlands update leaves me unable to join dedicated servers. After entering the password, you get stuck at the loading screen.

Loading single player works fine.

The dedicated server can have it installed and a client without VPO can connect fine. The client with VPO installed cannot connect to a dedicated server whether it has VPO or not.

Still get stuck at a load screen, however now the BepInEx output receives a couple of lines about "spawning a net scene" every so often.
