[bug] Incorrect File Highlight in Sidebar

Describe the bug

Expected behavior: The file currently being edited (active tab at the top) should be highlighted in red in the left sidebar.

Actual behavior: The red highlight only updates when a file is clicked from the left panel, not when switched via the top tabs. As a result, the highlight stays on the previously clicked file even when a new one is active.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Click a file from the left panel — it's highlighted in red
2. Now switch to another file via the top tab — the highlight doesn't update
3. Left panel still shows the previous file as active
