After updating various drivers on my PC deej stopped working, with the advice of @IcyRespawn over on the deej discord I went through the devices on my pc until disabling one solved the issue, Hope this helps people stuck with the same issue

We'll keep the issue open until a fix to address it (or at least produce a more meaningful error message) has been released, for easy discoverability. This is slated for the next deej release.

I had this same issue, but in my case I had to shut down "Nvidia Broadcast". The debug tool ran fine in CMD which in turn gave me the hint as to what was causing the issue.
