Breaks local play

Open aguillory opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

Hi, I installed sys-botbase a moment ago, and immediately went to local play on ACNH. Sometimes I will get a communication error but otherwise it just says no islands can be found. The gate will open, but the other person also gets no islands can be found. Wifi stays connected through it even though it says it is disconnecting from wireless. If I manually turn off wifi through airplane mode the issue persists.

Maybe not something that can be fixed - but it is something I wanted to bring attention to. Thanks :)

Did you ever get that issue fixed? I see that this issue has been posted over a year ago and no response. I have same exact issue and can't even get local play back, despite removing the folders/content the sys-botbase came with. Local Communication works for other games like Smash Brothers/Pokemon etc... just specifically not Animal Crossing.

Starting local play deactivates your WiFi connection (that’s a switch “feature”), meaning botbase and local play don’t work together (as one needs wifi and the other local play). Since you can connect to botbase but claim local play is broken you most likely use ldn-mitm, a tool specifically made to not cancel switch wifi when starting local play, but instead breaking local play.

If you want to use botbase and local play you have to use usb-botbase and connect your switch via usb instead of wifi.

my mitm is disabled for sure. the value gets turned off from green to red, also removed sys-botbase realizing it broke local option and as previously mentioned local options on other games work, smash/pokemon/etc...
