[EDIT] Finish transition timeline behavior

Summary Transitions are unfinished and have numerous bugs. This issue is a containment and acknowledgement that transitions are indeed not fully functional right now.

Any workaround for 1809 ?

I have a project with lots of transitions and need to move all the clips to the beginning of the timeline

The dip to color transition seems to stay at 100% opacity the entire time, overexpose the video briefly, and then fade back to normal exposure. When I use Cross Dissolve instead, it does absolutely nothing. However, cross dissolve does work as I expected it to on the audio. Video of this behaviour attached. I see these issues with some regularity. I'm using the ca8a257a9b9b846e8f7a9143082d97abdb2d450f appaimage, but this behaviour goes back some time.

Potentially relevant information:

  • I'm using Sway on Arch Linux, but I've also seen this happen on X11/GNOME.
  • The footage that appears in this video is VP9/Webm, with Opus audio.
