Presets folder

I would like to recommend another nomenclature and possible location for the tubeAmp presets other than ~/profiles

something like ~/kpp-profiles or as a hidden folder ~/.kpp-profiles or perhaps in the Music folder like ~/Music/kpp-profiles

essentially some kind of identifier to distinguish it, as profiles is very generic

I'd suggest to put the factory presets in /usr/share/kpp/ (system-side) since I can see 2 advantages:

  • protect the preset against mishandling
  • easier for the packager

For the user-side preset, I'd suggest to use the FreeDesktop recommandation and put them under ~/.config/kpp/

Thanks @tank-trax , @trebmuh

This VST3 version has no installer, so user can put Profiles under any place he prefere. I will mention this in README.

Hi, I was looking for this kind of thing, in opensuse I manage together with collaborators, geekosdaw, for professional music, the problem we encountered is that the profiles are put in / usr / share / tubeamp. and this is fine, but the plugin doesn't look in any default path, is it possible to have a tip to patch the default path for the packaged version? thank you!
