folder containing 'notes' breaks file tree

Given I have a folder '20-21 notes' And I have notes in the root of this directory And I have notes in subfolders of this directory Then '20-21 notes' is missing from the published file tree And files in the root of that directory appear in the root of the site And files in subfolders don't appear in the file tree, but are browsable

It looks like something is searching for folders with 'notes' in the name, but maybe this is because my git repo is named 'notes'.
