(Windows 7) Opening the Profile Editor causes an instant crash

Windows 7 Enterprise build 7601 (service pack 1) Java version: 1.8.0_411, vendor is Oracle Corporation, 64bit.

Clicking on New Profile or Edit Profile causes an instant crash. The Profile Editor tab doesn't cause crashes.

Update: It seems that this only happens when running the redist jar. Using the already patched jar from %appdata%/.minecraft/autool doesn't have this issue.
