Styling Best practices - light styleguide?

It feels that we could have a category with recommendations regarding how to create delightful experiences for the users of the software we build?

I imagine we would find there two kinds of recommendations, visual recommendations (choices of colors, typography, whitespace, headings etc.), and thinking processes on designing experiences?
