Improve UX and UI design for Jarbas
What is the problem?
The website has some rough edges in regards to usability and layout. I outlined some here:
How can this be addressed? I propose a first "bugfixing" approach to fix padding, whitespace and inconsistencies to almost all of the "in your face" problems. However, some others will have to be rethought:
- Adding a simpler searching mechanism, search by text
- Move the current search to an advanced search page
- Have a page for individual results and collective search results to remove the unneeded whitespace cluttering individual pages
- Adding helpful explanations to uncommon financial terms
Who could help with this issue? I am willing to do it. Someone which is more experienced with the searching capabilities (such as full text search, etc) could help with the available possibilities for a simpler searching UI, autocompleting identifiers and other kinds of labeling.
Labels [enhancement] [documentation]
Awesome, @fer22f! Thanks for that. Loved it ❤️
There are also great ideas in this archived issue: https://github.com/okfn-brasil/jarbas/issues/61 Who ever is willing to take this improvements on, I do recommend following this old thread ; )

Let me know how to help you. I can provide the back-end for features not covered by the current API.
Ooh, amazing, I don't know how I missed that thread! I will start to brush up some ideas based on them then, and keep this issue updated with the incremental improvements.
(And will use this issue to track my own progress)
What do you think about filter tabs?
In the coming week or so, I will request to merge this first set of fixes (without adding the more complicated stuff like adding new views), it basically works the same way as before, it's just a better UI.
I like it! Incremental enhancements instead of throwing it all away and starting over sometimes is the way to go : )
