Have I misunderstood? Phone-to-phone is not possible?

I'm using the official example app downloaded from the Play Store, but I can't get one phone to read/write to another phone.

Is nfc_manager able to read/write tags from one phone to another?

Currently not supported, but Android HCE may be implemented in v4.0.0 (#128).
