Update for DTU-Firmware Update V1.00.01 ->5min data refresh -> flexible parameter cloud-pause time

Open zigit780 opened this issue 4 months ago • 7 comments

The last FW-update from DTU increases the data in the cloud to 5min time-slot. So we need the possibility to adjust the parameter for cloud-update-pause which is currently 15min to a flexible parameter to change it depending which FW is active in the inverter.

At first can we combine #91 with this one here (means closing #91)?

To the topic: yes, the more frequent update of dtu to the cloud is sometime interferred by the constant connection between dtuGateway and dtu. But with my experiences there are only a few missing single data points over the day - finally hoymiles cloud using the given daily yield to persist the yield over time (at least what I can see). And with this I have also the history data regarding overall yield.

So, the question is how important is the current (!) value in hoymiles cloud (it is in normal installation, means without dtzGatway, with this update max. 5 min old) in comparision to the more valuable usage (in my point of view ;-) ), that the connected smarthome system (original use case for dtuGateway) get at least every 30 s a recent value.

I mean what is finally the trade off between cloud and local usage? (due to the fact, that only one connection at time is possible)

So, let's also discuss this point. Prior to a possible very sofisticated implementation for a slighlty better display in the cloud app. (sorry if I'm seeing this maybe in a wrong or didn't get the needed use case)

btw: I can put "user defined cloud pause repetition" on the list. For useful implementation it needs to be more analyzed, what is the real point in time for the triggered connection between dtu and cloud (e.g. wireshark logs over some more minutes/ hours).

btw2: You also mentioned:

So only the timestamp is synchronized ? But not the time itself? Makes it sense to have the possibility via switch in advanced preferences to synch ntp-time with local-time ?

With my understanding of timestamp - this is the time ;-) as unix based. The synchronization between dtu and dtuGateway (and in this direction) is already given. Therefore there is the dtuGatway local time (constantly synched with dtu given timestamps) and the ntp time in web view. Dtu itselfs syncing their local time itself with external timeserver/ cloud connection. The control for pause etc. is based on the local synchronized timestamp.

Yes we can combine with #91 and hopefully, it solves my problem because on my HMS-800W the dtuGateway is not working in general since FW Update of DTU. But on that I had since begin difficulties with some interruptions ( root couse not identified till now). But like I said it's doesnt' work at the moment not add all anymore :-(. So I can't really investigate the problem.

But I have a 2. system with HMS-800 without W with DTU Lite W Stick which is working fine . I know not official supported but works :-) There I have no interruptions seen or very rare. But is working with totally differnt router combination (LTE-Router Vodafone B2000) . So maybe I have to check again on my other setup my Fritzbox 7530. Maybe there is a problem with snyching the time for DTU from outside if I understand you, which can explain this big time differnces between the 2 times in my setup.

For me in general it's important that I have the hoymile cloud data without interruptions to know the sum of the energy over the day without interruption in the curve as I have no other logging at the moment. But if I miss one point at the moment if Iook in one moment is ok. If it is later added and daily curve is complete. That would be fine.

Just a small question regarding the hoymiles dtu/inverter software updates. How do I trigger an update? I do not use the Hoymiles' cloud application but the S-Miles Home app if absolutely necessary - that's why I came to dtuGateway in the first place.

Firmware update for the HMS-800W inverter or DTU can be done with the newest version of the S-Miles Home-App. Or DTU-Update in the Hoymile account in the webside under devices. If the inverter is NON-WLAN-version like I have also then you have to write the Hoymile support an email and then they trigger it via remote.

Hi! The inverter is the Wi-Fi version. However, I cannot find an option for a firmware update in the S-Miles Home app. Here's how I connect to the inverter:

  • Open app
  • Login
  • Connect to device (not logging into a registered account)
  • Add device manually: WiFi Version

Where do I have to look now? I also made sure, that my phone has internet access over data.

... maybe we want to move this to discussion?

in the middle under Devices -> upper right corner (gearwheel) ->Firmware-Update

hint: I have registered account if you don't find it, maybe this is necessary.

please close discussion here and go further to the fw update topic here #111

this issue will be used for the flexible cloud pause interval time
