There is an excellent extension that makes profiling memory and other resources quite easy called PHP-SPX.

Given its build process very closely resembles that of other PHP extensions, I would think it would be a welcome inclusion to the PPA.

Still rooting for this one. I'm able to install the entire rest of my PHP installation via the PPA, but I have to build from source for this one (very, very useful for development and profiling) extension. Would love to see it be a part of the PPA builds here.
