Add contextual menu handlers to Finder/explorer when running

Dropbox adds menu options to the Finder only when it's running. Dropbox is not present in the Dock while running and is primarily accessed through a menu item or Finder integration. Can we tap into this functionality while ipwb is running or do we need elevated access? What about Finder "Extensions" per System Preferences > Extensions?

What are some example of desired functionality that should be added to this menu?
