[FIX] composer: make edition mode depend on cursor selection

Description:

Current behavior before PR:

• When typing '=' and pressing the Home key, selecting a range caused weird behavior in the composer.
• Edition mode did not depend on the selection, leading to incorrect switching to editing mode when clicking the composer.

Desired behavior after PR is merged:

• Edition mode now correctly depends on the cursor selection.
• Text selection properly updates the edition mode.
