Please provide version information through tags or releases
Greetings,
The Debian Med team is interested in package ksw2, and libgaba is a dependency of it. For packaging purpose and dependency tracking, it would be interesting to have version information available on the public repository of libgaba. On Debian side for instance, this would allow to set watchers and make sure the package remains up to date.
Would it be possible to use for instance git tag to publish versions of the library ?
Have a nice day! :) Étienne.
In my understanding ksw2 implements a similar formulation to the libgaba but is not dependent on it. Thankfully he refers my repository but ksw2 itself can be compiled and used without libgaba.
If you are still interested in creating a package for libgaba, I'll consider tagging a stable one so please notify me again. I'm sorry it'd taka a bit since I've forgotten some about my codes.
Thanks,

Ah, thank you for the clarification. :)
The source code of ksw2 provides an option to make use of the libgaba, through the build time HAVE_GABA switch, so it is not a strict dependency indeed. But we thought Debian users could be interested by this possibility nevertheless. If expliciting an Open Source license is okay for you as well (see the other issue I opened), then the package may definitely be able to make it to Debian.

Oh I didn't know that, thank you for your information. Then I'd like to inspect compatibility, or what version ksw2 expects for libgaba, so I'd be happy if you could wait me a moment.
Thanks,
