Trying my hand at this update switching to TypeScript. There may be additional changes as testing occurs.

#76 - v6.0.0-beta.0 is published as prerelease. It uses crypto.randomUUID() by default. Some work still to do on the documentation and possibly the type defs but it should work

https://www.npmjs.com/package/short-uuid/v/6.0.0-beta.1 prerelease is published with the latest type updates and documentation. This is a release candidate.
