Hi, I have the exact same issue. My mobile data are always off to save on battery life, so when a SMS arrives, QUIK asks me to enable mobile data, but the MMS is NEVER received. I have to switch back to Samsung Messages to receive the MMS, then switch back to QUIK.

This is a serious "game" breaking bug right here. I need to ditch the Samsung Message app because it's bloated and slow as f***, QUIK seems to be the only viable alternative, and this massive critical bug prevents me from fully switching.

This bug should be treated as a priority and fixed ASAP.

Thank you.

then, expected behavior:

show "not downloaded" mms, with "tap to download" interaction?

@octoshrimpy Yes. You can sée the correct behavior in the Los messaging app.

I started to search in the Los app. I think this is where the MMS is downloaded again https://github.com/LineageOS/android_packages_apps_Messaging/blob/lineage-21.0/src%2Fcom%2Fandroid%2Fmessaging%2Fdatamodel%2Faction%2FRedownloadMmsAction.java

Any progress on this issue? This is actually why I am researching alternative messaging apps - my default one (LG's marginally modified version of the AOSP messaging app) makes receiving MMS messages a nightmare whenever my connection is spotty. And because I utilize MMS group chats for most communication with friends, it can be quite frustrating.

Currently, Quik simply offers no option to do anything with MMS messages that are not fully received (which happens sometimes when connection is spotty, as well as when your data is turned off) - they show up in your conversation, but only as an empty placeholder. At least with the LG messaging app, there is a "download" button when this happens. Ideally, this download should happen automatically in the background, and should be handled robustly (i.e. retry automatically once the data connection is sufficiently strong). I'd be willing to test solutions to this issue, as I can reproduce it consistently; I just don't have the skills to actually contribute code changes.

Same for me: There is no notification when someone send me MMS if my mobile data is switched off. If QUIK was able to send a notification which propose us to download the MMS would be perfect. At least receiving a notification from QUIK saying someone is trying to send us a MMS could be nice ? (We could ask the person to send it again after switched the data on.)

Hi, I've got the same problem for a few months now. For example, when I put airplane mode on, and someone sends me SMS and MMS, I obviously don't receive them. When I turn the airplane mode off, I receive the SMS instantly but for the MMS, it takes several hours to receive them. It's not exactly the same issue as totally losing them but it's frustrating to discover I received MMS a couple hours later.
