maybe there can be a section for custom shortcuts depending on the app you are using , the macOS **steermouse app** uses this for mouse chords
one workaround I used was to use Logitech options to remap all of your extra buttons into modifiers, then reconfigure the modifiers into mouse buttons 3,4,5 etc., using karabiner elements....
