report the result, not the var name with setup.ml -configure

currently with setup.ml -configure we have a report of that kind: User executables: .............................. $exec_prefix/bin

when we are configuring things we would prefer to have the real result (not var names) like: User executables: .............................. /usr/local/bin

A lot of free libraries give this kind of concrete report, which is important when we are installing things in the system as root, and when we want to check if we had done the configure step correctly.
