FocusAwareStatusBar error when compiling to physical device

Summary:

Unable to load the default project template on a physical device due to rendering error. See the following:

Warning: Error: Couldn't find a navigation object. Is your component inside NavigationContainer?

This error is located at: in FocusAwareStatusBar (created by Onboarding) in RCTView (created by View) in View (created by CssInterop.View) in CssInterop.View (created by Onboarding) in Onboarding ...

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create the default starter project.
  2. Install dependencies.
  3. Configure device settings to allow on-device app installation.
  4. Run the project using pnpm ios --device.

Expected behavior:

The developer is able to see the login/onboarding screen when running the app on their physical device.

Additional notes:

M1 MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1 iPhone 14 Plus 18.1.1

@jacobmcmichael, is this issue related only to the physical device, or do you experience the same problem with the simulator?

This issue is stale because it has been open 90 days with no activity. Remove stale label or comment or this will be closed in 14 days
