Suggested revision of class hierarchy Mammary gland specialist have noted that the mammary gland myoepithelial cell origin is ectodermal, not mesodermal. There are also indications that salivary gland myoepithelial cells are also ectodermal ( Erich J. Raubenheimer & John G. Batsakis, 1987, Tariq et al., 1967).

Therefore, the axiom 'develops from' some 'mesodermal cell' should be removed.
