Bricked my PC

Open zife47 opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

Today I tried to install this through cmd per steps, freshly new to all of this. I then promptly restarted my PC per cmd advisement. Now, I cannot log in to my PC with my password since it no longer registers any mouse or keyboard I try to use. Did I just brick my PC?

happens when something like antivirus deletes drivers "keyboard.sys" or "mouse.sys" from "Windows\System32\drivers" folder without proper uninstallation

just boot into safe mode and uninstall properly

try to plug in another keyboard. maybe take a fresh keyboard.sys or mouse.sys from c:\windows\system32\drivers. And if your av deleted it, get rid of it or add an exclusion for the drivers folder.

This is the same issue and it happens on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. It's either Secure Boot or TPM. I think it's Secure Boot but I'm not really certain.
