Time Machine backup gets blocked by Lulu

Open clouddivergithub opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

I just figured that my last backup of the Mac on the latest baseline was some months ago. Time Machine was stuck. Having disabled several daemons, it worked. By enabling Lulu, the backup in process stopped immediately. Counterchecked by disabling Lulu, restart the backup worked. Re-enabling Lulu, the backup stopped again. I have allowed already to my knowledge all relevant processes like

  • backupd
  • backupd-helper
  • com.apple.prefs.backup.remoteservice
  • Time Machine

My Time Machine disk is a SMB share on a Synology NAS which is fully visible and accessible via the Finder, even with Lulu enabled.

Any Idea?

I had the same issue, no fix, switched to another firewall for the time being. Kernel Panics also went away after switching.

@af1 Could you please advise which Firewall you are using?

@Maghsad Radio Silence, not FOSS.

I realised it when there hasn't been any backup since a few weeks. I re-created a completely new backup with Lulu off and it worked. Once the full backup was finished, I re-enabled Lulu and it seems to work again. Regular backups are done. I'll monitor it and let you know once it'll happen again.
