Editor preferred term: scooping Textual definition: Planned process that consists in transferring all or part of the liquid or semi-liquid content of a container outside the container using a scoop, spoon, ladle, or similar concave contraption as an intermediate vessel, by immersing the empty concave portion of the spoon/ladle/etc. into the substance, and filling it up with liquid or semi-liquid, after which the full spoon/scoop/ladle/etc. is moved away from the container to its destination.
