New Line Doesn't Appear at Bottom of File on Line Break

When typing on the last line of a file, if you hit enter, the cursor will disappear and the new line wont appear at the bottom of the file until you type a character. You can hit enter multiple times, and you wont see anything until a character or space is typed (whereupon it appears those multiple lines down).

If you edit the last line and insert a line-break in the middle, the rest of the line just disappears and wont appear on a new line until a new character is typed.

Update: Working with this on linux, it appears that you can scroll down with the mouse and see new lines below the window. It might have been the lag issue that made it seem like things were inaccessible before you start typing.

I thougt I'd clarify this issue with a better title and a clarified description. Here's the main issue: When writing/editing the last line of a file: if you press [Enter], the window doesn't scroll to bring the new line into view. (Your cursor and following characters disappear off the bottom of the window).
