Garbled graphics output on Samsung Galaxy pop GT-S5570

The output in vnc viewer is garbles as shown in the attached image. The mouse and keyboard inputs are transmitted over to the device successfully. But the screen displayed in the viewer is garbled.

Note : Running Droid VNC on rooted Samsung Galaxy pop GT-S5570 Android version : 2.2.1 Connecting to the server through usb and vnc viewer on windows 7. Required drivers installed and adb installed. Port forwarding done successfully

My phone has root via SuperSU and busybox. I changed "Display Access Method" and other settings several times, but that was no good. I got the same scrambled screen on Jiayu G4 Advanced (chinese phone) with android 4.2.1. Note: SCR Screen Recorder app works fine to record the screen to an mp4 video file. I would like VNC though!
