Grasping at straws here about what might be afoot - are you running your board powered via USB or via a dedicated power supply?

I was experimenting with baud rate and upped it from `9600` to `115200` and it now appears that my serial transmission error is resolved. I still cannot explain this however...

For the record I have two DUE I have been testing with, one is an official Arduino board and the other is not. I see the same behavior between them...
