Fix indentation/style (BLOCKER)

Priority: annoying bureaucratic blocker

I’m a C programmer. I’d do KNF, with tabs; but that would probably hinder future acceptance of this code into other projects. Best see what Torbutton’s code style is, and match that.

This should be done before any other substantive changes, since it will wreck diff.
