wikimindmap Mindmap download doesn't work

Love this concept, and viewing in the browser works just fine. But the downloaded file cannot be opened. All that is downloaded is a tiny 136 byte file that cannot be opened by Freemind, Freeplane, or Docear. Downloaded using a WinXP SP3 machine running Firefox 31.

Update: I tried opening the downloaded file with an editor, and inside was this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_encode_numericentity() in /var/www/public/getfreemind.php on line 338

I've download the MM file from the above link, and opened with FreeMind Version 1.0.0. The first prompt was that this MindMap file was from an older version, and that it needed to do a One-Way upgrade in order to open. Once opened, I see this error in the middle bubble cloud:

Error while parsing file:freemind.main.XMLParseException: 
XML Parse Exception during parsing of the XML definition at line 1: Unexpected end of data reached
