Twitch app no longer handling Free Games with Prime

Open ProfPointNClick opened this issue 4 years ago • 10 comments

It seems the Twitch platform has shifted the Free Games with Prime handling over to the Amazon Games for Windows app. Now, when you redeem the games on the Twitch page, it prompts you to download the Amazon app instead. Is there a way to modify this plugin to pull from the new launcher?

@ProfPointNClick Can´t confirm that it is no longer handling games. When you press Download and play on the Twitch Prime website, it does say "Download the Amazon Games App (Windows)", but it also says that the "Game will also be available within the Twitch Desktop App".

Personally, my games are no longer present in the Twitch application. image I had to install the Amazon application to be able to play them again. image

@Hatsum you filtered for installed games. Try again with the filter set for all games.

@Rall3n it is exactly the same thing without filter...

@Hatsum Still can´t confirm that the Twitch Prime games are no longer handled by the Twitch App. I can still see every game I claimed, even the latest ones from April 2020.

Also there seems to be no indication (at the moment) that the games support in the app will be discontinued other than them recommending the Amazon Games app from the Twitch Prime site.

I think it is a problem on your end.

I was having the same problem. Try going to File->Logout in the Twitch app and then logging back in. Your games list should repopulate, after which the games should show up in Galaxy again.

I just installed this plugin on my windows 10 system today, and all of my twitch prime games appear as available (I haven't installed any). Even the new game added for June2020 "dream daddy" is listed in the GOG library. I haven't installed or used the amazon games for windows app.

I also switched to Amazon Games client, any chance for it being supported? I like it better because it is not bloated by Twitch streaming features (which I don't use) and I prefer not to install another client.

I am having the same problem, I'm fairly confident the issue isn't on their side but rather that twitch/amazon has changed how the free games are offered to be downloaded/installed.

There is now a separate integration for the Amazon app (and it doesn't require credentials, which is nice).
