BFGMiner and Unhandled Exceptions

First of all: I'm getting a clue, that you're not really debugging your software, but thats not the point right now.

Following problems occur on my Windows 10 (Build 17134.1246) machine.

After downloading (what is a pain on its own because of anti viruses and chrome protection) and installing MultiMiner, i don't get your announced Getting Started dialoge, but a warning that bfg iwas not found. Confirmed it to let it download the bfg, which throws an unhandled uriString exception (Maybe a typo in your source code, offline site, whatever). So i googled bfg and downloaded it manually, after further more googling i found an issue posted in your repo, where it states where to put the bfg files (in my opinion you should add a troubleshoot topic to your repo, where such stuff could be added for easier lookup). after adding the files and starting MultiMiner again, it greetes me with an unhandled Exception, stating that something with version was either too long or too short. As a Developmer myself i'll help you a little bit more and post the StackTrace of the Exception, hoping you can help me out or fix the error ;)

I'm having a similar issue to this. I haven't even been able to download the BFGminer at all. Upon startup trying to download BFGminer I get a crash.

Same issue. It's completely unusable for me. Tried on multiple PCs.

You have to download a older version of Multiminer then download a older version of BFGMiner. Then put then old BFGMiner in the old Multiminer folder. Thats what I did and it worked.

That's a workaround, not a fix. Also would be helpful to know which specific versions you mean.

I would download different versions til you find the one that works. You have to rename BFGMiner folder to "BFGMiner" then put it in the Multiminer folder. In the Multiminer folder there is a whole bunch apps no folder except "BFGMiner". Hope this helps

Are you able to link to the versions? Nothing at all is working for me

I don't know the link to different versions. I had a old version of bfgminer saved on my one drive from a few years ago and I used that.

4.9.0 Works for me. The filename needs to be changed to BFGMiner and put under a directory called Miners in the MultiMiner folder. eg Path/to/MultiMiner/Miners/BFGMiner
