Support Last.fm scrobbling

Open 4oo4 opened this issue 7 years ago • 10 comments

I'm not able to have Last.fm scrobbling work when using Audinaut, even though it works fine using the web player and I have the same player settings for both. Is this something that can be added?

Coming from Plex, I really love this app, this seems to be the only thing missing for me :smile:

The Airsonic server already supports this and should scrobble the play activity Audinaut sends back to it. :)

@nvllsvm Interesting, I had scrobbling working through the web client but not through Audinaut. Are you saying it works for you? If so I'll see what might be wrong with my setup.

Doh! Looks like there's a number of issues with Airsonic's scrobbling support.

https://github.com/airsonic/airsonic/issues/507 https://github.com/airsonic/airsonic/issues/585

Also looks like Audinaut is not doing what I thought. Reopening!

@nvllsvm Awesome, thank you!

Just a note, my Airsonic scrobbles just fine when playing via Audinaut.

@jangrewe Are you sure? I thought the same thing, but noticed it only does so when downloading the file. Playing cached media, even when in online mode, does not scrobble.

Oh, i didn't look that closely. I just checked if there was anything scrobbled while i was listening to something, but i didn't play anything previously cached.

I really wish audinaut would scrobble when i play cached music :( I think to implement this, some would need a "queue". To queue up the music you scrobbled and send it when you have access to the internet.

I recently upgraded my Nextcloud installation and have started using the Music app that includes subsonic support. Audinaut seems to work very well but scrobbling does not work. I personally use Simple Lastfm Scrobbler (https://github.com/simple-last-fm-scrobbler/sls) which works very well for a lot of applications. They have an API and they also support other API as shown in their Compatibility.md. I would recommend reaching out to get a proper broadcast of tracks played instead of trying to get it done in Audinaut proper or relying on the server that would not have visibility to cached tracks. Regardless of how you implement scrobbling, it would be a great addition. Thanks for all the work on Audinaut.

I too am using the nextcloud music plugin and normally scrobble stuff on my Android via the official Android scrobbling app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fm.last.android However, even though it recognizes Audionaught as an audio player it does not scrobble the songs for some reason. Would be great to have some kind of scrobbling support for this app.
