Documentation unclear on how to use project_pov variables

Hi,

I'm trying to generate a geojson file of world country polygons, which more or less matches the country boundaries that a typical world map in America would show. So, for example, showing Crimea as part of Ukraine, and not showing Somaliland as a separate country.

The documentation says:

"Natural Earth includes support for defacto and alternate points of view (aka worldview) with different admin-0 fclass_* properties (like fclass_iso). The QGIS project includes a data driven toggle for adjusting the point-of-view for country, map units, state and provinces, and disputed boundaries (since version 5)."

I downloaded the quick start zip and opened it in QGIS. In my QGIS project properties, project_pov is set to fclass_us. I opened ne_110m_admin_0_countries in the project, and it doesn't seem to be showing the US worldview. Am I misunderstanding how the project_pov variable is supposed to work, or is there something more I need to do?

It would be good if the documentation had a more detailed explanation on how to use the worldview toggle.

The quick answer is the POV shapefiles are only pre-built for the 10m country themes, not yet for 50m or 110m themes. If you want polygons with a US view then you need to use the 10m polygons.

However, the 50m and 110m boundary lines are enabled for POV properties today.

In the next version we can schedule adding POV polygons for 50m and 110m.
