ne_10m_geography_marine_polys: duplicated NE ID
There are two entries for the ID 1159117285 (Great Barrier Reef)
One seems legit:
While the other one seems weird (an artefact?):
ne_id 1159120309 seems to have been used for both Dinagat Sound and Tanon Strait. (In earlier versions neither had a name.)
ne_id 1159120631 seems to have been used for both Lillebaelt and Samsobaelt.
Is this using the files in this Github repo, or the ones released on naturalearthdata.com?
From this from Github repo, using the tag 5.0.1
(I should probably bump to 5.1.2
now)
The 5.1.0 version released on the site still had the Great Barrier Reef duplicate ID as of this morning (I just downloaded the zip file to check). That one has the 2 nameless entries with "Internal Philippines Waters" in the note field, which have distinct NE_ID field values from each other.
In the 5.2.0 changes at the repository, dated 2 June 2022 (and which I redownloaded the dbf of just now), the Great Barrier Reef does not turn up with a duplicate ID, but the 2 formerly nameless entries that now both have ne_id 1159120309 now have distinct names (Dinagat Sound and Tañon Strait) although a duplicated NE_ID value. Formerly they seem to have been 1159120271 and 1159120309, more or less, as far as I can see. So one of them had its formerly distinct NE_ID value wiped out and replaced with a duplicate. (Dinagat Sound doesn't have a name_fr populated while the other does.)
The 5.2.0 changes pending at the repository also still have the "ne_id 1159120631 seems to have been used for both Lillebaelt and Samsobaelt." issue mentioned in the above comments. That ID used to belong to a nameless entry with a blank name but note = 'Internal Denmark Waters'.
Sounds easy enough to fix, thanks for the detailed report on the beta release files!
