salesforce problem with NVDA

Steps to reproduce:

  1. go to account in salesforce, make sure that NVDA is running
  2. create a case, from the account or an asset.
  3. in the "new case" under category or sub category combo boxes, select something.
  4. you'll see, that NVDA isn't reading what has been selected in the combo boxes.

Actual behavior:

NVDA does not read the selected option in the combo boxes

Expected behavior:

reading the selected options in the combo boxes

NVDA logs, crash dumps and other attachments:

NVDA installed/portable/running from source: installed

NVDA version:

2024.4 beta 4

Windows version:

We are unable to process this issue as it stands.

  • Please fill out the issue template fully.. Please tell us the exact version of software used to reproduce the issue
  • Please reproduce this issue and provide a log file of the behaviour. Ensure your log level is set to debug in general preferences.
  • This is very likely a problem with the implementation of the application/website, as a starting point please submit feedback to the authors to let them know about the problem.

@afikso since you seem to have this problem with narator and Jaws as well, this might indicates that it needs an external fix from salesforce developers. Have you contacted them already? And it this still occuring with NVDA 2025.1 Beta?
