Steps to reproduce:

case 1:

  • ensure braille is tethered to review
  • ensure that settings => composition only plain text is in use
  • ensure that in thunderbird account settings => composition & addressing compose messages in html format is not checked
  • open write message window
  • write one or more lines and press enter so that you are on blank line
  • press braille scroll forward/next line button
  • press scroll back/previous line button

case 2:

  • ensure braille is tethered to review

I tested both cases but everything worked correctly. I tried with latest alpha version and @burmancomp's pr version from another issue. Windows 11 23H2. My Braille display is Braillex EL 80c. TB is 115.8.1.

It seems that there is something in my thunderbird profile which causes this issue. I tried with new profile, and issue did not occur.

which NVDA version is this occurring in? this was missed in the template. Do you know if this is a regression in 2024.1 or 2024.2?

Current source but I feel issue is also for example in 2023.3.4. @irrah68 has w11, and he cannot reproduce this. Maybe this issue apply only to w10?

This comment is also for #16314.

Like @irrah68 I am unable to reproduce this issue in Thunderbird 115.7.0 (64-bit) and Windows Version 23H2.

The braille display is Braille Star 80.

@burmancomp are you running NVDA from source with your PR? Or is a clean version based on current NV Access/Master?

I think I have tried both with same result.

@burmancomp - can you investigate which config items that cause this? you can do this by comparing the profiles.

When uploading logs, please provide the full log file. When logging at debug level, it includes the config being loaded, which means we can debug what config is causing this.

This should happen with Windows 10 and when using plain text when composing message (see steps to reproduce (comment).

I am unsure what I should do.
