probably same underlying cause as mentioned in #13288. If these voices are private for narator only and Microsoft does not allow third party software to use them, there is nothing NVDA can do apart from reporting to Microsoft that these voices are needed for NVDA as well.

Would this prevent automatic language switching? I've noticed Narrator will switch to Raul when encountering <p lang="es">, but NVDA makes no switch.

  • Windows 10
  • NVDA 2024.1
  • Windows OneCore Voices selected
  • Microsoft David is the selected voice, NVDA lang is en
  • Both Microsoft Raul and Microsoft Sabina are available on the PC as es-MX voices, but of course Sabina is the only choice available to NVDA

I've tried switching the selected voice to Microsoft Zira too, but no difference.

Is there a way to get automatic language switching working with OneCore?
