In PDF forms NVDA is not announcing "required" state

Open guenterhanke opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

Steps to reproduce:

Open a PDF form where a form field contains the required state in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Press TAB to go to the different form fields.

German test file to reproduce https://www.tapir-online.de/BW610600.pdf

The following fields have the required state

  • Familienname (last name)
    • Vorname (first name)
    • Geburtsdatum (date of birth)

Actual behavior:

When navigating in virtual mode or when using TAB key to move from form field to the next.

NVDA will announce if a field is read only but not that it is a required field. Neither in braille and speech.

Expected behavior:

NVDA should show when a form field has the required state. And this in Braille and speech. Like NVDA does with the read only state.
