KDE Plasma - missing icons/incorrect colour

Open matty-r opened this issue 4 years ago • 9 comments

On the last few releases of KDE Plasma, there has been a number of missing icons or have the incorrect colour making them almost invisible.

Examples:

Missing microphone icon in volume control image

Missing expand arrow in networks image

Hi, can you please place the issue here https://github.com/numixproject/numix-icon-theme and provide a screenshot showing how it is supposed to look using another theme? That speaker icon in the first screenshot seems to be undersized / shown unscaled.

@palob I've transferred this issue to the right repo - agree, looks like a scaling issue (though not sure what's wrong in the 2nd scrot)

Sorry, not sure how I missed this communication. There is a scaling problem as well for sure and the icon is entirely non-existent in some of the spots. This is just a 1080p display so shouldn't be any dpi/scaling problems. Network Numix circle icons used: image

Default Breeze icons used: image

Oh er that's not good, thanks for flagging it! Is this a particular distro or just Plasma generally?

My testing has only been on Arch Linux with KDE Plasma. I'll test out some other distros like Kubuntu and KDE Neon and let you know how it goes.

Looks like it was reported some time ago by someone else on Reddit as well - maybe the same issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/numix/comments/hj8zcg/numix_circle_broken_in_kde/

On Kubuntu the plasma version is older, but there are still some things missing:

This is good to know for testing thanks! Will be easier to spin up a Kubuntu VM than an Arch one

If you want to test Arch you can try out Endeavour OS - it's basically Arch Linux with an installer
