GNOME Icons Refresh
Hello Folks,
I'm just bringing to your attention the new default icons being being included in GNOME 3.32 for nearly all of the core and associated GNOME apps. There is a whole new icon design framework now for GNOME software products, and as such many of the Numix icons for these apps no longer match the upstream icons. I'm not sure if these new icons warrant you all to redo these icons per se, but it might be worth a revisit.
Cheers!
Hey @brittyazel, thanks for bringing this to my attention! I'll try and get a VM with 3.32 up and running next week so we can identify exactly which icons it is might need reviewing.
Why would we match the upstream design? The GNOME design guidelines do not apply to us. Are there icons where they changed on the metaphor?
@palob That's what I was assuming, some apps might have changed a metaphor or logo that we used in ours rather than us updating to match their design outright
For me, under Gnome 3.32, these don't load Numix:
- terminal
- archiver
- screenshot
- system-monitor
- settings
- help
- logs
- fonts
- disks
- boxes
I think we've got the symlinks, are you sure you've got the latest Numix Circle/Square release?
