"input hint" field for all parts

Should there be an optional hint for parts other than number entry? For example to write something like "Input all numbers as fractions or integers" next to a mathematical expression gap. I often find I'm spending time trying to match the style of this sort of statement with the number entry precision hint.

Apart from the one you suggest, I can't think of any other sufficiently generic input hints. Maybe there should be a free text "input hint" field for mathematical expression parts, and maybe some of the other types too.
