Scrollbar behaviour on narrow screens

(Apologies for the photos: scrollbars disappear in screenshots). This was on Windows, Edge 121.0

When the menu collapses, there seem to be two issues with scrollbars:

• One is that an unnecessary outer scrollbar appears, which doesn't seem to scroll very far. Top image below is in wide view, bottom narrow view when the menu collapses:

• A separate issue is that the inner scrollbar seems to overflow the frame, such that it's hard to scroll all the way to the bottom of the test

The separate issue is the same issue!

The problem is that the <main> tag overflows, because of the copyright footer. I noticed this a couple of days ago but I don't know what to do about it.
