This can likely be easily solved by using the `auxclick` event. You can assign a click handler with `preventDefault` to it: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Element/auxclick_event
We have this issue: https://github.com/nukeop/nuclear/issues/1484 which will solve this problem once it's implemented. You'll be able to correct which stream is downloaded.
This could be a whole separate, optional service with the ability to self-host. It'd need to somehow sync the frontend state between two users, we don't have anything like that...

If he made it he can sell it under any license. Don't be silly thinking a license he chose himself can limit what he can do.
