No Livemarks folder?

Open prouss1 opened this issue 6 years ago • 5 comments

Sorry to be dumb but I'm missing how this is supposed to work. I've imported the opml file that Firefox created but I don't see a livemark folder anywhere. I've seen a response elsewhere that says to "toggle each one to the bookmarks toolbar from each feed" but I don't know what means. Some of my old bookmark feeds reappeared in Bookmarks and I was able to move them back to where they had been before this FF update, but others haven't reappeared at all. Appreciate the help. Thanks!

One way to use this:

  1. Open Firefox menu and click add-ons
  2. Click on Livemarks preferences button
  3. Copy the url of one of your rss feed urls
  4. Click on new livemark on the preference page and past the url to that
  5. This now shows up in Firefox bookmarks as it did pre Firefox 64 Do that for each feed

If you have a OPML then the import should (I would think) do the same thing but only with less work. Or you can do the above for any missing ones if you have the urls and just move on.

Thanks, that worked eventually. Overall, a pain in the neck, although was a good excuse for deleting a bunch of feeds I no longer really needed, but hasn't exactly increased my loyalty to Firefox!

In the addon preferences under "More options" there is an option to chose the default folder. You might want to change that to "Bookmarks Toolbar" or some other folder.

Or are you saying that the there is bookmark folder created for any of your imported feeds? I think by default they should appear in the "Bookmarks Menu" (check with CTRL+B).

The ones that appeared were in Bookmarks Menu and had to be moved - I think your suggestion re the default would have helped with those. The bigger problem was all the ones that weren't anywhere and had to be done one by one. Anyway, I'm good for now, don't add that many new ones, so just hoping FF doesn't come up with another big change any time soon.

So now I'm finding that some feeds are refreshing with new items and some aren't. I have preferences set to refresh every few minutes. Is there something else I should be doing?
