What license is couchdb-commonjs under

There is no copyright or license mentioned in the readme or the code for this project. Technically this means people can't use this library without writing you and getting express permission — which I don't think is your intent. :)

Please consider updating the code to include a copyright notice and licence.

It's MIT license. Sorry for taking so long to reply. I plan to update this project again this weekend. I'll take care of this issue and also the npm version issue with promised-io.
