Describe the bug. What happened?

Hi,

I am using Weasis 4.6.1 on Windows 11, I met a problem with using the magnifying lens:

  1. open any image
  2. zoom it to a very large scale, like, 500%
  3. click "show the magnifying lens" button on toolbar.
  4. image in the magnifying lens is actually smaller than the image in main view.

Is this an issue or by design?

This behavior is not considered a bug. The magnifying lens in Weasis has its own zoom factor, which is independent of the main view. Sometimes, this is useful to have a more global view when working with large images or when zoomed in closely. So in your case the main image is already highly zoomed in, the lens should zoom out rather than zoom in further.

If you would like to synchronize or adjust the zoom factor of the lens, please refer to the documentation for instructions on how to do so.

Thank you for the kind and clear reply.

I here have another question about freezing: would it be better if the menu items "Freeze parameters" and "Freeze image" were checkbox menu items?

It could be possible to have checkbox items, but for the freeze image action, it doesn't make sense to apply the parameters related to another image. That's why it seems more logical to me to keep the current behavior.

I updated the zoom documentation to better explain the parameters.
