noVNC Control bar handle should stay fixed when opening/closing

Describe the bug

When you open the control bar, the place where you click to open/close it moves along with it

To reproduce Open or close the control bar

Expected behavior

For muscle memory reasons, the open/close button should not move, so that it is in the same place regardless of it's open or closed status.

Note this is on novnc 1.6.0-2 in firefox 140.0.4 running from proxmox

Sounds reasonable. But it would require a big redesign of how the control bar is handled, as the area where the handle is currently gets replaced by the expanded control bar.

Do you know of any good examples from other software?

I suggest just extending the button so that it overlaps... or underlaps in this case, the control bar

Something like this

Maintains the original location, but if you learn to click it at the top, you can always click it at the top and it's going to be like a toggle

I'm not sure if I understand your image. How big would the handle be when the control bar is closed?
