[FEAT]: Option to remove hearing impaired tags from subtitles

Open Yves-Be opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Description

When downloading subtitles, it is not always possible to choose a non hearing impaired version of the subtitle, especially in English. These can be an annoyance when not being hearing impaired, as they stand out because of the use of all caps and other symbols.

Examples of hearing impaired tags:

(SIRENS WAIL)
DOCTOR: Rose!
♪ MUSIC PLAYING ♪

A toggle in the settings of the subtitles to strip these tags before they are displayed could solve this, while being relatively easy to implement with regexes.

Additional information

The Sub-Zero Plex addon already has an option to do this. It uses this code with regexes to strip the tags.

It's to the user to have proper srt (full) instead (sdh) lol If you want you can use online tool : https://subtitletools.com/srt-cleaner Your SRT will be cleaned in a few seconds, just mux and add or replace subtitles in your video with MKVToolnix.
