No Internet Connection for Trakt over VPN

I cannot connect to Trakt through Nova Player when my VPN is connected. I am on a Firestick 4k (Nougat) using Windscribe VPN. I've tried 3 servers including one in another country. I'm using the latest stable version of Nova Player. It connects and syncs fine without VPN. Not sure what the problem is.

This even happens if the VPN is not a "real" VPN (I experienced this on the current F-Droid version 6.0.53 of Nova). For instance if an AdBlocker like Blokada is used.

The Trakt settings query is the only one that doesn't work: OpenSubtitles, Blocklist fetching or local network queries are working perfectly.

It's still an issue with the current version and VPN based adblocking via AdAway.

I donot have VPN, getting No Internet code -6 error.
